This url takes you to the HP download site for ver 1.8:

Don't forget to COLDBOOT your server when installed!

Re: BL460c ILO2 problem after firmware (ROM flash) upgrade to 1.70

Thanks for that.

When you say COLDBOOT do you complete power down, unplug power cables, leave for 30 seconds then power back on?

Thanks.

Re: BL460c ILO2 problem after firmware (ROM flash) upgrade to 1.70

I mean COLDBOOT from the ILO menu, NOT completely coldboot as in removing the powercord. My problems did NOT go away until i did that after downgrading from 1.11 to 1.8.

Re: BL460c ILO2 problem after firmware (ROM flash) upgrade to 1.70

HP has released ver. 1.11.1 of the iLO 2 Management Controller Driver:
http://tinyurl.com/pwchzc
This appearently is supposed to takle care of the event log messages (event id 57): "Fixed improper logging of warnings to the Windows Event Log after a reset of the iLO 2 interface. These messages all used Event ID 57."
Has anyone of you had the courage to test it for the problems we have been discussing here? I'm not only thinking of the Event ID 57, but also the BSOD's we have encountered?

Re: BL460c ILO2 problem after firmware (ROM flash) upgrade to 1.70

Sorry HP, but ver 1.11.1 did NOT cut it. Installed it on one of my Bl460c blades yesterday (Windows 2003 server x64), and the EventID 57 error messsages reapeared this morning. First this one:
"NetFN 0x4, command 0x2D timed out "
then this one:
"Failed GET SENSOR READING, sensor 8"
both at the same time.
HP, why is it so hard to get this fixed?
I'll keep it installed for now, and see if the BSOD's also re-appear. Have NOT yet seen it happen.

Re: BL460c ILO2 problem after firmware (ROM flash) upgrade to 1.70

I've got these warnings appearing on a freshly built server running 1.14 of the iLO driver on a bl460c.
O/S is Server 2003 SP2, 32 bit. I'd like to get this corrected befor eI turn the system over for production.

Re: BL460c ILO2 problem after firmware (ROM flash) upgrade to 1.70

We are talking about the iLO 2 Management Controller Driver ver. 1.9.+ here. The latest driver for it was released may 26. and is ver 1.11.1. You are talking about the Integrated Lights-Out Management Interface Driver which has nothing to do with the issue discussed here as far as I'm concerned?

Re: BL460c ILO2 problem after firmware (ROM flash) upgrade to 1.70

Actually, there are problems with both, and maybe some other components of the PSP. See this thread:

Re: BL460c ILO2 problem after firmware (ROM flash) upgrade to 1.70

Hi everybody.. Did anyone knows the fix for event id 57 hpqilo2?

http://forums13.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1345003&admit=109447627+1244423178201+28353475

After updating to psp 20, the version of HP Proliant ilo2 Management Controller Driver
for Windows Server 2008 x64 Edition is 1.8.0.0. and there are a lot of event logs (event id 57). After reading some thread, i upgraded the ilo2 Management Controller Driver into 1.11.1.0. It lessen the number of event logs but it is still there.

My server is Dl380 G5 on Windows Server 2008 x64.

Pls help. Thanks

Re: BL460c ILO2 problem after firmware (ROM flash) upgrade to 1.70

I have the same problem with 2 blades BL460c. i tried all latest firmware and drivers without success. The event id 57 comes back again and again.

HP is quite lost as they replaced both mainboards but errors still there.

For now I disabled the ASR option to avoid system restart...let's hope HP get their software problem fixed soon.

Re: BL460c ILO2 problem after firmware (ROM flash) upgrade to 1.70

HP has released a firmware update for the ilo2 card. Version 1.78 solves some new problem (but not the one for event 57). Version 1.77 was supposed to fix event 57, but it doesn't.

Re: BL460c ILO2 problem after firmware (ROM flash) upgrade to 1.70

HP ProLiant iLO 2 Management Controller Driver 1.11.2.0 has fixed the problems for me. One of my BL460c systems has been running fine now for 3 full days with no problems at all. ASR's are gone, no hpqilo2 event 57 messages, and no problems with rebooting from windows. I also installed it on another BL460c and on an older ML370G5 with the same good results (All of these had the same problems before). They are now ALL installed with Support Pack 8.25A, and in addition to that the following updates that are released SINCE 8.25A:
HP Integrated Lights-Out 2 1.78 Online ROM
HP ProLiant iLO 2 Management Controller Driver 1.11.2.0.
As far as I'm concerned, the problem is fixed. Fort those of you still having problems, try a complete coldboot of the server and ILO2 after these two upgrades.

Re: BL460c ILO2 problem after firmware (ROM flash) upgrade to 1.70

Hello,

Thanks for your information. I will install this latest driver and we will see if these errors go away once for ever. If yes, then I will renable the ASR option.

Regards
Christophe

Re: BL460c ILO2 problem after firmware (ROM flash) upgrade to 1.70

Hello,
I tried to install the latest ILO2 Management Controller driver on a Windows 2008 X64 machine(Component CP011258.exe) using Version Control Agent. The Install failed. Then I tried to install the component locally on the server. When doing so the setup dialog prompts me whether the unsigned (!!!) driver should be installed or not. Indeed the drives are not digitally signed (also CP011256.exe CP011257.exe and CP011259.exe are not). Does anyone make the same experience and how does HP think about that ???

Re: BL460c ILO2 problem after firmware (ROM flash) upgrade to 1.70

There are other threads in other forums dealing with the same iLO issue. The drivers not being signed has also surfaced. See the last couple of entries in this thread:

Re: BL460c ILO2 problem after firmware (ROM flash) upgrade to 1.70

That's odd. The file I have downloaded is cp011256.exe and has no such problems. Installed it manually with no questions about unsigned at all? When I try to download it again from here http://tinyurl.com/mhkrcv it sure is cp011256.exe? Where did you get your file from?

Re: BL460c ILO2 problem after firmware (ROM flash) upgrade to 1.70

Hi,
I know that the components CP011256 /CP011257 and CP011259 do not make such problems when installing then. The problem only occurs when installing the component CP011258 for Windows Server 2008 x64 for only 2008 X64 does not accept unsigned drivers. 2003 X86, 2003 X64 and 2008 X86 do accept them (as I know)
