Sorry for the question but the process I new to me. I would like to look into powering on my blades with an iLO script. I am not sure if I should use CPQLOCFG.exe or HPONCFG. The first question is where can I download the correct tool. 2nd question is there a good user guide/ tutorial on CPSLOCFG or on HPONCFG?

Re: boot a blade using iLO script
Why not to use Rapid deployment pack?
You got a license for each blade you bought.
Booting up machines with RDP is as easy as drag-dropping an icon on the destination server.
There are many other useful features in using RDP.

Solution
You would use CPQLOCFG from a Windows client, and some example perl scripts from a Linux client.
Because HPONCFG runs on the host, and the hosts are powered-off, that is not an option.
You can download the tools here:
www.hp.com/support/ilo2 then pick an OS (I selected Windows Server 2003).
The HP Lights-Out Configuration Utility contains CPQLOCFG.
Also get the HP Lights-Out Scripting Samples. These contain a bunch of starter scripts to go from and it is a lot easier than starting from scratch with the documentation.
Return to
www.hp.com/support/ilo2 pick Manuals (on the left hand side of the screen)
then download the scripting documentation:
HP Integrated Lights-Out Management Processor Scripting and Command Line Resource Guide for HP Integrated Lights-Out versions 1.82 and 1.91 and HP Integrated Lights-Out 2 versions 1.1x, 1.2x, 1.3x, 1.70, 1.75, and 1.77
The simplest script to boot a blade will be set_host_power.xml:
