ILO 2 firmware upgrade with Solaris 10 os

I have a HP DL380 G5 with an ILO 2 firmware version of 1.24

I have problems accessing the ilo over a web browser and would like up upgrade this to the latest release to hopefully fix this issue.

How can I do this when the server is running Solars 10 ?

You may download the firmware CD. Boot to the firmware CD, and update your iLO firmware.

Latest is Smart Update DVD 9.20.

Here is how I updated the ILO 2 firmware from the Solaris 10 OS.

/opt/HPQilo/bin/hponcfg -f /tmp/Update_Firmware.xml

I put the firmware .bin file in /tmp and used the Update_Firmware.xml

this worked for me :-)
