lost admin password of ILO on DL145G2
Could anyone know how to reset the ILO back to factory default or reset the password of the admin user account ?

Then you can use HP online configuration utility(hponcfg) wich comes along with PSP (%Programfiles%/HP/hponcfg), also downloadable from the web.
Run
hponcfg -f reset_pw.xml (Attached)
for changing the password.
Alernatively, boot into RBSU interface of iLO by pressing F8 when prompted during POST. There you have the option to both change the password and reset iLO to factory defaults.

When I use this method to reset the password, it prompts up
ERROR: CPQSMIF.DLL and SM2USER.DLL not found.
ACTION REQUIRED: Please install the latest Proliant support pack.

hponcfg works only with ilo, ilo2 and riloe2. no way to use it with lo100i.
you can use ipmitool to reset the password to the default "admin", check
