RILOE II CARDS

We have purchased ILO II cards for DL380 G2 servers. Do we have to buy either a 16 pin connector or an adapter for the keyboard and mouse for the card?

When you login and go to remote the server the keyboard and mouse dont respond at all.

We only bought cards and not the full kits?

You need to use the internal 16 pin cable. The cable should come with the kit from the RiloII card.

Ok Thanks for that what about licencing? Doesnt seem to be a licencing tab?

RILOE II do not require license keys.

You only need a license for the ILO Graphic Remote console becuz it's a advanced feature. You have to license the Proliant Essential Integrated Light's out Advanced pack. But you don't need it for power down or cold reboot functions.

We also got the DL380 and in the administration tab there's a link "licensing". U can check it when you click on the remote console tab. If the remote console opens without the question about licensing then you don't need it.

But on my machine i need to license it.

This is coming from iLO and not the RILO II card. For iLO, you need to purchase an iLO Advanced licenses for Graphical remote console.

iLO requires a license key to activate the remote console feature as shown in the screen shot.

You can download an evaluation license key from HP here:
http://www.hp.com/go/ilo
Click on "iLO Advanced" then "free trial".

You will be issued a license key that can be installed by browsing into iLO and navigating to the Administration/Licensing page. After activating the license, you can access remote console.

For RILOE, there should already be a cable in the host system clipped to the PCI riser- you should not have to purchase an addition cable.
