SNMP monitoring and alerting on a SecurePlatform System

I would like to use an HP DL580 as a Checkpoint network firewall on SecurePlatform (SPLAT), a linux variation. If I cannot install Insight Manager on this platform, how do I monitor hardware failures and system health? Can I get SNMP alerting/monitoring via Lights Out?

I'm actually looking into the same thing. I did find that SPLAT offers an SNMP addon which you can enable via cpconfig, option 2. I haven't tried this yet, but will do so this weekend.
