2nd Event Handler not sending emails

The first event handler is configured to send emails for critical and major events to a specific group for all servers. This works fine.

Created a 2nd event handler task to also send emails, but to a different group, and only a subset of the servers above (i.e. only the database servers and send the messages to the DBA's)

I created the group just fine but we noticed that while the task was running (per the log), emails were never sent.

When we went back to edit the event handler task, the email option was no longer selected and the settings were blank.

Since then I have edited the email settings for this task numerous times, but each time I go back to edit it, the email settings are gone -- as if they were never set!

Are there any tricks or gotchas to be aware of, or is this a bug? If a bug, is there a workaround?

Through trial and error I found my answer.

It is a bug.

One of the users on the meail list had a "'" in it. Such as Mr.O'Brian@mail.com

It appears that SIM cannot deal with an apostrophe in the email address

well, using a ' in an email-adress ... is that allowed anyway ?

Good question. No one ever accused our company's email staff of conforming to standards.....
