A plea for Netware trust relationships

What is the technical reasoning behind not establishing, or allowing establishment, of trust relationships between SIM and Netware servers?

It is becoming an increasing burden to have to log into the insight agents on each of these servers the more heavily we rely on Insight.

So here it is -- my "Official" plea for Netware trust relationships. Can we have an option to manually insert a username/pw into insight to auto-login to these pages?

Re: A plea for Netware trust relationships

The ultimate solution will be Novell Open Enterprise Server hosting NetWare services on top of Linux. Trust relationships already exist for Linux agents.

You could set the NetWare servers to anonymous login allowed and that would bypass your issue.

Re: A plea for Netware trust relationships

We run OES 6.5 (Netware) sp3.

And no, anonymous access only allows "look" access-- if a server has reset itself from ASR (as was the case last night, when over 20 servers locked up due to abends caused from the LANSAFE AIOCOMX module choked after timesync changed the system clocks over 2 hours),

I had to manually log into each one to clear that setting out so they wouldnt show as "minor"

Re: A plea for Netware trust relationships

Unfortunately for pure NetWare (4.11; 5.0; 6), there are several infrastructure items not there like XML parsers and the like for SMH to run. We approached Novell over these missing infrastructure pieces, but they weren't overly interested due to the Linux migration strategy. Can't say I blame them, but it does make it hard to keep things 'the same' as we extend Windows/Linux mgmt strategies with newer technologies.

Re: A plea for Netware trust relationships

Is there a way we can create a script for SIM to inject the login name/password into that java login prompt in the SMH?
