After upgrade: Event forwarding is now RAW SNMP traps
Before we Upgraded to this latest version of SIM: 5.1 with SP1 - Windows Build version: C.05.01.00.02 (and we've been real good about keeping up with versions)
we would get an event like:
Power Suppy 1 failed in blah blah blah...
very plain English.
Now we get
Trap.cpqHe3FltTolPowerRedundancyLost: HP Systems
Insight Manager Alert
Event Name: Trap.cpqHe3FltTolPowerRedundancyLost
Am I missing something? I've upgraded many times before and never had a problem. Did something change? Should I try a re-install?
Thanks

Re: After upgrade: Event forwarding is now RAW SNMP traps
You might try updating to the latest MIB package.

Re: After upgrade: Event forwarding is now RAW SNMP traps
I had the same issue when we upgraded to HPSIM 5.1 (on SuSE Linux).
See thread http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1101446
Today I applied the latest MIB update kit (7.80), and now the trap descriptions look normal again :-)

Re: After upgrade: Event forwarding is now RAW SNMP traps
I had updated earlier to 7.70 and it didn't do anything.
But MIB 7.80 did the Trick !!!
Thank You all for the Help
