Agent for Compaq DL380

Do anyone know how to install HP Insight manager Agent on Compaq Dl380? We are running HP insightmanager 5.0 and we are not able to discover old compaq DL380 servers.

we have mix on HP and compaq servers and we are not able to moniter health of compaq servers. We want to moniter them from one console throught HP insightmanger 5.0

Any help is appreceated.

Download and install the ProLiant Support Pack for the correct generation of DL380 by selecting the options from http://www.hp.com/servers/swdrivers

If the server was not built with Smart Start then you may not have SNMP installed.
You'll need that installed first using the Windows Add-on Products install.

even if there are no agents you should be able to discover the server.

I tried to install the PSP 7.6 but server sitll does not show up in Insight manger.

IT has SNMP strings and compunity is configured .

due to some reason I have issue only on compaq DL380 's

we are able to discover the new hardward fine .

HPSIM should be able to identify an HP Server using SNMP alone.
So the fact it is still showing up as unknown would still indicate snmp is not correct.

Check the community names are there and they are case-sensitive.
Also check that the HPSIM Server is set as an allowed host along with localhost.

If you click on the server name in HPSIM and look under Product description you should see the management protocols it has discovered on the server.
Unknown means it has at least discovered one management protocol but that it has not been able to identify the device using that protocol.

SNMP is set up properly.

I tried to go to options and
clicked on data colletion tab

and I go this error messge

The device does not have any supported instrumentation.

I think the ROM on these servers are old and need to be updated . wnyone had this kind of issue ?

It apperes that for w2k3 PSP 7.40 is the best on these old DL380.
Any newer PSP will not instal on my DL380.
For other Windows OS version I have no info.
