Alerting in HPSIM 4.2
Every night we reboot some managed systems an then get an Alert via email. The machines need between 5 and 10 minutes for the rebbot. Which settings have to be changed that an alert is only generated when the machine is longer than 10 minutes not available.

Re: Alerting in HPSIM 4.2
You can't really do this directly in HPSIM.
Even if you lengthen the polling times it may be that at the time the Server is shutdown the polling cycle starts.
You can use the Disable Monitoring flag, but this is a manual operation and at this point cannot be scheduled to tie in with a standard maintenance window.
A possible way to address it would be to use the custom command approach rather than direct e-mails. A script could be set up to take into account the outage window and not e-mail as appropriate.

Re: Alerting in HPSIM 4.2
Another simple way to do it is to edit your alerting task so that it uses a time window, and exclude the time during the nightly reboot. It's the last step of the task "wizard." That's what we do.

Re: Alerting in HPSIM 4.2
Our Problem is, that we have nearly 200 servers and they reboot at a different time.
I think the solution with excluding the reboot time wouldn´t work.
In the old version of "compaq insight manager" are two parameters. One is called "inaccessible alarm retries" and the second one is the "status poll intervall". With this two parameters it is possible to have a per-server time window from 10 minutes.
Could you please send me an example script or point me to the appropriate documentation which sends an alert after an outage of more than 10 minute
