Automatic Event Handling 'You are not authorized to access this page' HP SIM 7.6

Dear Friends, Romans and fellow HP SIM headscratchers

Trying to create a new Automatic Event Handling task for a fresh installation of HP SIM 7.6 hosted on a VMware box with Windows Server 2012 R2 (Dual core processor and 8Gb RAM). Process starts ok and i can select name, select events ( I have a preformed collection) , use system attributes that I specify ( I use system type = server, Management Processor and tape Library). Takes a long time to load this page but eventually does. I then select actions in my case an email in HTML format. When I click next i get ' You are not authorized to access this page'

I am using the bundled SQL Express version. I am using an account which is Domain Admin, was used to install HP SIM and has Full Rights, Limited rights and All tools to the CMS and All Tools to All Managed Systems

Hello,

Is your user Admin in SIM ? If so also check under Options > Security > Users and Authentications.. Find your user in the second tab Users and select Edit. Check here if your user has the following right :

Central management server security configuration right: User can configure CMS security access such as creating, modifying or removing other users.

This seems to have nothing to do with this but just try it.

Workaround is to create a new task...

@ Nokia, is this bug a Linux bug or does the Windows version have this bug to ? I've not seen this in my Windows 6.7. But will try to create a new autojob tomorrow.

I am using the exact same version as yourself Andrew and am getting the issue and to reiterate on a Windows box

Was the SIM an upgrade or fresh install? And what version of the System Management Homepage do you use ?

Is the SQL local or ar remote and what version ?

I use Internet explorer 11, what browser do you use ?

On the server desktop I have used IE11.

On a client PC i have used both IE11 and Chrome

Do you know if anyone from HP actually checks this forum as it seems I am not alone with this issue.

It also means that the system is unable to send email alerts if it detects anything

The realy strange thing is that i have the same setup as far as i can tell and i don't have this problem. Can we compare sets ?

My set is working so here are my versions:

Upgraded 7.6.0 from 7.5 with hotfixes 1 till 22.

SMH 7.6.0 X64

Windows 2008 R2

Remote SQL 2012 

As told before i don't have the problems discribed. So is there a difference between our setups ?

The only difference is that you had version 7.5 installed and upgraded with hotfixes whereas I did a new install to 7.6.

As I have the server available I may try a fresh 7.5 install + hotfixes and see if it is different.

It may be a few days before I can try this.

Facing the same problem with a new installation of 7.6 

I can't edit my events, getting the error "You are Not Authorized to access this page".

Even though I'm using the user i have installed the hpsim with all the authorizations and created the events.

User has full administrative permissions.

My workaround worked. Fresh install of 7.5 followed by August 2016 Hotfixes and then upgrade to 7.6.

Am able to create and edit Automatic Event handling tasks at will

We also have this problem. Did you lose data with the uninstall/reinstall of SIM?
