Automatic Event Handling

I performed a fresh install of HPSIM on a new server and set up Automatic Event Handling for 3 seperate instances: Critical, Major, and Minor. I have shut down monitored systems to test the email function, but my tasks never run. When viewing the all the systems list, it does show the shut down machine as critical, but nothing happens. I was pretty familiar with CIM so I am wondering if I missed something in the new version. After browsing the forum, seems like several folks are having trouble with the Automatic Event Handler function. Any help is greatly appreciated.
