Automatic Event Handling
Newly upgraded IM 7 to SIM 4.2 SP1. We'd like to receive an email notification only on "System Status" changes, not "Event Status" messages. We occasionally have major events that occur and appear under Event Status that do not need an email notification. The closest I've come to enabling this scenario is to configure Automatic Event Handling "Select events" using event category name is Systems Insight Manager Events, and type name is any...and "Select systems" where system name is any. This seems to be working correctly, but I wanted to make sure I'm on the right track, or if there is a better way.

Re: Automatic Event Handling
Yes, you can have quite a combination depending on the level of alerting you want.
I have two generic alerts, All Critical Uncleared Events, All Major Uncleared Events. At this site they're not too onerous.
I have an additional one for System Outages, so I can narrow that down so that the alert is raised only if it is a Critical Event AND Server Unreachable from the Systems Insight Manager Category.
