Backup of license keys in SIM

Hi all!

Is it some way to get the license keys (insight Control) from a SIM server?
I doing a fresh install and want to move over the existing keys from old SIM to new SIM.

Hi Micke,


Please tell us more about your environment:

1) What SIM version is being used by you?
2) To which SIM version you are trying to move those license?
3) What is the Operating System on which SIm is installed?


If you are using SIM 6.0 and above in Windows environment then there an option to migrate all that data to your newest SIM server.

Also note, migration will also help you to move all the settings and node details as it is to the new environment.


NOTE: This facility is not available for other OS platforms (i.e. Linux and HP-Unix).


If you are using OS other than Windows then please contact HP support, they might help you in this process.


Based on your above answer I would be able to point you to some resource where you can find more information on how to migrate your data.

Hi Micke,

Few updates:

1) You can migrate data from SIM 5.3.1 to SIM6.x.

2) I have also attached the document that explains Data Migration in detail.
