Basic questions on trust, MiB and firewall
Hello,
I've just installed a new version of SIM 5.0. The installation is placed in a management network where all ports are open if they are initaited from the inside.
The things I'm wondering about is the following:
- On about 15 servers or so I have manually imported the server certificate using the cut-and-paste-method described in the help section. I get a message that the operations have been completed successfully, and when I try to accsess these nodes( with the replicate agent settings tools, which is the only way I have found it possible to see which systems are trusted and not) by clicking on target name I am not prompted for user name and password, but are allowed direct access to the area where one assigns trust mode. My interpretation of this is that some thing happened after the import, but the "replicate agent tool" does not. The servers are still shown as not trusted. What can be the reasons for this?
- When I'm trying to deploy disk thresholds to all my servers, quite a few of them are getting stuck in the state "running". This is most likely because they don't have the status as trusted. Or are there some other issues I should look into as well?
- Is there a way to view the MIB's in use at any given time? Are the most basic MIBs compiled as default or is there nothing running after a fresh installation?
-
Thanks on beforehand :D

Re: Basic questions on trust, MiB and firewall
Hiya,
Just to query, if you go to:
https://servername:2381 and log in, then go to Settings -> System Management Homepage -> Security -> Trusted Management Servers
is your CMS listed here?
If so, when you click on the Health Status or Software Version Status within the CMS does it open the SMH of the server straight away?
And which version of the agents, SMH etc are you running?
