BladeSystem Hierarchy Disappeared and other SIM Problems
Hello, I'm having major problems so i hope whoever is reading this can bear with me. Thanks.
Firstly, normally by default for blade servers, you have a tree hierarchy where the system name for the blade would be like "x in enclosure y"
and if you looked at the system name of the enclosure it will say "y in rack z".
Earlier this week, all the associates disappeared. Ony the system names were individually displayed such as x or y or z alone. I went into system properties and ensured that no custom names were typed in.
I go to to the integrated console --> HP BladeSystem Management link and decided to look at the hierarchy. some of my blades showed up, but my other enclosure was missing.
I did a query and looked up my enclosures and they showed but in the rackview in BladeSystem mgmt it didn't show.
By the way here's my rack structure:
2 power enclosures, 2 enhanced enclosures. enclosure 1 has a 40P with patch panel 2s, enclosure 2 has a few blades and 2 GbE2 switches in them.
Whats more interesting is that in my enclosure query, it shows a 3rd enclosure named "unknown". clicked the link and you know how the enclosure picture normally pops up?
This enclosure was empty and my 2 GbE2 switches were showing in that unknown enclosure.
and in my 2nd enclosure with my blades where the GbE2 switches are supposed to be, it showed absolutely nothing.
My rack has an X critical picture on it and I have absolutely no idea as to why that is. Everything seems corrupted.
Also, referring back to the unknown enclosure, i click on one of the switches. Normally a system page would show right?
I get some java exception that is like 5 pages long. it talks about some internal error with some java exception errors. I can't recall what errors they were but the java exception had the word "catalina" in them and i've heard of these errors before but i am unfamiliar with what is wrong.
Also for my all Systems list page, my iLO "MP" category was fine last week. Not its all quesiton marks. I do another query looking up all iLO's and i see the results and the status if each iLO is fine with checkmarks. but in my all systems list it is all question marks.
I am frustrated and I don't know how to fix any of these problems. I am just thankful this is not an actual production rack and that it is for customer solutions solely but lately I haven't been showing it off.
I have no idea as to how to fix these errors and I think i will just spend 2 days working on it wiping out the CMS with SIM on it and just SmartStarting the CMS again and reinstall SIM and build it up again. Unless someone out there has a solution to any of htese errors.
I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

As a workaround, try deleting the Gbe2 switches from HP SIM.
