Can I install Insight Mgmt Agents in a VM?
I have a VM with W2k3 EE on it so can i pop on the 7.10 agents?

As explained in the "Best Practices for VMware ESX on HP ProLiant" document, virtual machines have no hardware; the hardware it thinks it has is artificial, so nothing really can go wrong with them. With that in mind, it really makes no sense to put a hardware monitoring agent on a virtual machine. HP SIM uses WBEM/WMI to collect data on virtual machines, but the only really useful information is typically the network interfaces, number of CPUs (in the case of VirtualSMP) and disk space. HP SIM also can give you up/down status through SNMP.
The new ProLiant Essentials Virtual Machine Management Pack takes some additional steps, like associating virtual machines with their hosts. One of the results of that is the ability to propagate the status of the physical device to the VMs so you can see what VMs might be in danger based on a physical device failure.
