Re: Can not discover system
Check you've not got filters enabled for Unknown or Unmanaged devices - under discovery.
Can you ping the server from the CMS?
What happens if you try and manually discovery the server using IP name from HPSIM?

Re: Can not discover system
Firstly the ping fails.
When I manually discover the system it appears in "all systems" as unknown then after about 5 minutes changes back to unreachable.
There are no filters set up, Im trying to keep it as open as I can without threatening the customers security. Port 22 is open and I can connect through using putty.exe
Any ideas?

Re: Can not discover system
You could try opening up SNMP (161). On the target server side you can restrict SNMP to just accept localhost and the HPSIM Server.
It's almost like the server gets discovered by the discovery protocol and then when the first hardware polling task runs it flags it as unreachable. Not too sure why that would be though.

Re: Can not discover system
I cant see anywere let alone in the log of events where it says it found it and on what port. We need to get this working just over 22 dont really want to open any more ports if we can avoid it.
Can you clarify that everything should work ok over port22 - ssh?
