Can't create or modify custom lists.
- I'm making these changes from the SIM server.
- Under System Lists, click Customize.
- Click on New List...
- Add an option for the list and click on Save As...
- Nothing happens.
I've noticed that IE is showing there is an error on the page as soon as I click "New List". Viewing the details of the error showes the following:
Line: 232
Char: 9
Error: Invalid argument.
Code: 0
URL: https://hpsim.domain.local:50000/mxportal/search/AdvancedSystemsSearch.jsp?inframe=customize
Nothing has been been uninstalled or installed since the SIM upgrade. I've rebooted the server and all of the other usual troubleshooting steps. Any ideas?

Re: Can't create or modify custom lists.
I have a similar problem with custom Event List. Change Regional Settings under Control Panel to English (United States). This solve my problem and couple of customer problem, also with Performance mangement Pack wich dosn't show server for monitoring.

Also cannot edit Tasks set up in the Automatic event handler at step 3 of 6 (Select Systems)... clicking on 'Next' yields an Error on Page message.

Re: Can't create or modify custom lists.
*** NOTE - I make no promises that this will work, or that it won't cause any additional problems. ***
1. Stopped all HP/SIM/PMP services on the SIM server.
2. Cleared the cache, cookies, and temp internet files in IE on the SIM server.
3. Cleared the windows temp folders in the user profiles for the account I was logged into the SIM server with, and the account the SIM service runs with.
4. Cleared the Java cache files for the same profiles listed in the previous step. Deleted the files in the following locations:
C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javapi\v1.0\file
C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javapi\v1.0\jar
C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javapi\v1.0\tmp
C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\tmp
5. If you are accessing SIM from a computer other than the server it is on, repeat these steps on that computer as well.
6. Restart all HP/SIM/PMP services and see if you can make a list now.
Worked for me. Of course, might have just been dumb luck in my case. But my guess is that there was something buggy in the Java cache folders. Let me know if it works for you.
