Can you change the name of the a machine

Is it possible to change the name of the machine to something more friendly?

SIM uses DNS for it's name resolution. If you are running SIM on Windows and the machine name is not in DNS or not a friendly name in DNS you can add an entry to the C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file. Then delete and rediscover the device. Windows looks in the host file before checking DNS.
