Cannot license PMP on server with an old name
Hi All,
I have an old server called civic that had PMP licensed for it.
That server was physically replaced with a new server and the name retained.
I'm trying to re-license the server using a newly purchased PMP license but I cannot get it to work.
It just remains listed under the licensed servers as "wrong host equipment".
I don't really want to delete this server from HPSIM as there's quite a bit of historical data associated with it.
Is there any way of deleting just the PMP license record so that I can re-license it?
TIA Rob.

Re: Cannot license PMP on server with an old name
Can you try performing the data collection and Identify system task for the server?
Once that is done, select the server and open License Setup Page (Options -> Performance Management Pack Options -> Verify Target System page -> License Setup page). Server should listed under "Available for Licensing table".
Select the server and license for PMP.
Hope that helps...

Re: Cannot license PMP on server with an old name
No it trips up at the Configuration stage.
It correctly lists the new server's serial number / description etc. But as soon as I select that server a pop-up appears saying the server has been previously licensed.
So the check seems to be name based only, it's not recognising the fact this is a different physical server with the same name.
