Cannot replicate SNMP settings

Hi,

Trying to replicate the SNMP settings from SIM.

Some servers have been updated sucessfully but others will not. The messages I receive are:

Failed ID: 109989
EXCEPTION CLASS: com.hp.mx.dtf.sshClient.MxSshFailedConnectionException
EXCEPTION: Unable to contact the SSH server on node "Domain Server".

I have checked on the server that is running SIM and it has the OpenSSH service installed.

I have tried to start this and it states that some services may not start as they are not doing anything. As a result this does not start.

The target servers do not have OpenSSH installed. I assume that this is not required as others servers have been successfully updated and they do not have OpenSSH installed.

I have read all sorts of forum posts but cannot find a resolution.

I can ping the servers by host name from the SIM server.

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers

Scott

Re: Cannot replicate SNMP settings

Also, this is the build of my server

Systems Insight Manager 4.2 with SP1 - Windows Build version: C.04.02.00.01
Windows Version Windows 2003 Standard Edition

Do I need to upgrade to SIM SP2????

Re: Cannot replicate SNMP settings

Hi,

You can replicate snmp settings using "Replicate Agents Settings". This way you do it through SSL and as far as I know no ssh is used (on my side I didn't even installed it on managed hosts).

Are you using this function ?
For that you need to configure a "Trust relationship with your managed hosts)

Re: Cannot replicate SNMP settings

Upgrading to SP2 would really help you. SP2 has a fix that helps you to run the configugure and repair agents settings task and few other tasks that involve SSH easily. So, my vote is to move to SP2.
