Centos shows up as "Linux - Oracle" in OS name column
I have several servers (Proliant Dl380 G4 and G5) with mixed os Redhat EL4 or Centos 4 isntalled. Servers with Centos shows up fine HW wise but OS is identified as Linux - Oracle. Is it any adjustment I can do in order for SIM to discover my OS type correctly?

Re: Centos shows up as "Linux - Oracle" in OS name column
hi
can you provide us with your snmpd.conf file 's content ?
The fact that your server is shown with a inux OS rather than centos is probably due to a wrong snmp configuration...
If not, you can also somehow fool HP SIM by editing the system properties of your centos servers. Simply select them then reach out for options / system properties / set system properties. In there, edit the OS part and replace it accordingly to your needs.
hope it hepls
