CIM 7 sp 2.1 data coolection tasks locking up d:

We have CIM 7 sp 2.1 with Management Agents 6.3 and 6.4. We have 2 data collection tasks. On 3 Websphere servers that are running w2k sp 3 these two data collection tasks will cause the d: to lock up. Sometimes when they run at the same time they will cause the server to lock up the d:. You can browse d: but not open any files on d:. The only recourse is to reboot the server. It does not happen every time. Only after 2 or 3 occurrences. Almost like a memory leak or some sort of java issue. Thanks.

The only thing the Websphere servers should be seeing is a bunch of SNMP GET requests. That shouldn't cause a lockup. If you manually browse to the agent does anything happen? If you have the link on the device page saying "Insight agents status (using SNMP)" use that link and bypass the web agent gui and force a bunch of SNMP GETs and see what happens.

I will try to make it fail again and then test the agents like you suggested.

Is this IM7 or hpSIM? Your last posting refers to an XML Get for a license key that makes me think this has something to do with the hpSIM License Manager and not IM7...

Anyway, I see internally that you have escalated this as a case through customer services also. If you could, when the resolution is found, please come back to this forum to post so others may benefit...
