CIM7sp2.3 upgrade fails

Hi

We have IM7 sp2 installed and working correctly, I want to upgrade it to sp2.3, when I run the install batch file from the service pack files that have been extracted, I get prompted to stop the services and then it appears to hang there, when I press enter, it starts to copy a series of files and then I get an error.
"Access is denied"

The patch eventually screwed up my SIM 7 install.

I re-insatlled Sim 7 sp2 and reapplied the patch and guess what....it did'nt work and screwed up my Sim install again.What is it with these developers these days. Any one heard of test-pre-production then release!!!.
