Clarify SSH/Service Account Issues on SIM 4.2
I was wondering if someone could please clarify any issues concerning the SSH service and service account in SIM 4.2 running on a 2003 server:
- Does the SSH service *NEED* to run as localhost\Administrator?
- Can the SSH service run under a domain User ID that is in the local administrators group of the SIM server?
- Can the SSH service run under a local user ID that is in the local administrators group of the SIM server?
What ramifications are there for these configurations?
The install guide for 4.2 indicates that SIM should be installed using a local account on a 2003 server... is this really necessary?
Because we are using SQL on a remote server, and when it comes to the step where the install creates the database, it wont let you change the authentication settings (ID and domain)... it keeps the credentials of the logged on user, which if that is a local account, cant have rights to SQL..
Thanks
