communication with the hp sim server has been lost
HP SIM 5.2 SP2, with patches
From time to time, the SIM browser interface shows "communication with the hp sim server has been lost". then I have to reopen it. What gives? This is very very annoying. Thanks for your help.

There's a security timeout that's enabled by default. The 'timeout' you're seeing is most likely from that. You can change it by modifying the settings file for SIM. The Userguide should have the correct steps for this if I remember correctly. This is the most likely cause.
If you do this and/or you're sure you're not leaving your console idle, then you're most likely having a communications issue to the CMS or your CMS is having performance issues.
