Configuring Systems Insight Manager with non-default SMI-S provider ports
Hi,
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to HP SIM to configure it to detect SMI-S providers installed on managed systems using non default TCP ports?
I have verified connectivity to the SMI-S provider on the non-standard port using wbemdisco.cmd.
Thanks,
Dan.

Re: Configuring Systems Insight Manager with non-default SMI-S provider ports
Found the answer in the troubleshooting section of the SIM help.
For the benefit of anyone in the same situation as I was;
Edit the file called wbemportlist.xml in the directory '%Program Files%\HP\Systems Insight Manager\config\identification'.
Add a 'port id' section for each custom port configured, add the corresponding 'interopnamespace name' node(s).
Restart the SIM service on the CMS then perform a discovery. The SMI-S providers should be identified by the discovery.
NOTE: The WEBES user name and password combinations configured in the global protocol settings section will be attempted against each service defined in the wbemportlist.xml.
