Daily System Identification Task - Skipped Systems / not reporting events correctly
Hi
I've been having issues with certain systems (SIM install is HPSIM 5.1 sp1 btw) not reporting events to SIM correctly - i.e changing a disk or rebooting a system and we are getting no events logged / no email event handlers sent out.
After doing lots of digging around i noticed that i'm getting a error on the Daily System Identification Task - it's telling me that certain systems (the same ones that are having the reporting problems) are being skipped.
(but if i look at them in the SIM console - all green - no errors, not disabled)
So what i ended up doing was disabling and re- enabling monitoring on all these systems - ran the Daily System Identification Task again and they are not being skipped any more - rebooted one of the systems and i'm now getting the events and the email from our event handlers.
Has anyone else seen this problem?
Any ideas what could be causing it?
thanks
Karl
