Data Collection and Reporting on HP SIM 4.1 Linux
I have attempted to install SIM 4.1 and the agents on a Proliant system running Linux. I am using the same box as the CMS. I believe everything has been installed properly. I am able to log onto the HP SIM GUI using port 280. However, I can not see any reports using the Reports...Manage Reports option. Every one I try indicates "There is no data for this table". I have tried to run data collection using both the Options...Data Collection and Logs...View All Scheduled Tasks and they have indicated that data collection ran.
How do I tell if data collection was actually successful or not and where this problem may be.
Also, I would like to confirm that the email contact setup is working. Is there any way to have the system send an email? The only things I see that generate email are hardware type faults (fan failed, thermal event, etc.).

Re: Data Collection and Reporting on HP SIM 4.1 Linux
Goto Logs -> View All Scheduled Tasks. Have all the tasks run at least once? In many cases, the Bi Weekly Data Collection task takes a long time to start, as it is not intended to run frequently.
Consider manually running any task in the All Scheduled Tasks list that has never run.

I did find that as well and it had not run. I did run it from there, but to no avail.

It may be a database issue. You may have to resort to using PostgreSQL diagnostics to look for something out of the ordinary.
