Database Issues w/Major Confusion
Not sure where to start on this -
I came in on (3) servers that had HP Insight Manager installed on each based on MSDE.
Server 1 - Uninstalled Insight Manager because we do not want it there. The Insight Manager database is still present and seems to have recent access. Any way I can track this down? Just uninstall the instance? There is also a PMP and VMM db?
Server 2 - This is where we want Insight Manager to run and store data. I noticed this am that it is actually storing its data on yet another server where Insight Manager was running. I'd prefer the data on Server 2 though. There are no SIM databases on this server today.
Server 3 - Insight Manager was running here too. We stopped the service prior to uninstalling and because we wanted to know how to drop the database too and lucky thing, because the after stopping the SIM service the transaction database exploded and filled the disk. There are actually (2) Insight Manager DB's on this server.
We are using the MSDE databases. I am not an SQL expert and I don't have access to the SQL 2005 tools.
Is there anyway for me to track down what is still using these various databases and get it all onto one server? If we uninstall SIM, it appears to leave the db behind, how to clean up?
Can anyone offer any help? Thanks!

Re: Database Issues w/Major Confusion
See the database.props file in:
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager\config
that will tell you where the database is.
If you can get hold of the SQL Server tools, just install them on a workstation you should be able to at least see what each MSDE instance is actually running. I don't think you need a license to run the tools.
If there's no historical data it may be easier to start again. Clean up all of the MSDE instances by removing the product and all DB's.
As you've noted, HPSIM as 3 DBs as part of a standard install.
Install HPSIM 5.1 from scratch and let it install the latest database product etc.
