Re: Dell Server management in SIM v5
Afaik, SIM can be used for data collection(sort of inventory) for non-Hp servers.
Incase you have'nt read/checked, http://h10018.www1.hp.com/wwsolutions/misc/hpsim-helpfiles/hpsim_managing_nonHPservers.pdf

Re: Dell Server management in SIM v5
I've done this recently and there were a couple of mibs that didn't compile immediately so I thumbed through the error message given and using a bit of intuition realised that the HP SIM compiler didn't recognise some of the parameters in Dell's mibs. But this was only for two or three of the mibs, the rest were fine without intervention. The bonus from this was that for any Dell server now showing up in HP SIM I can go to the Tools & Links tab and Server Administrator link is sitting there (assuming that you are running the Open Manage software on your Dell server). I believe it's the Open Manage software that alerts SIM to any issues, cos as soon as I got these mibs installed I had one or two Dell servers alerting with SCSI disk errors and was able to use the Server Assistant link to interrogate the server (see attachment)
