Deploy the insight manager agent

How can I deploy the HP SIM agent ver. 5.0 using the Insight manager. If not possible then how can I do it ?

Re: Deploy the insight manager agent

Nasser,

From the Insight Manager console, go to:

Deploy
Deploy Drivers, Firmware and Agents
Install Software and Firmware

You can then pick your target machine(s) and choose what to install from the Version Control Repository - although, if it's an initial installation on an HP server, it's best to install the Proliant Support Pack in full. You can do this from the same menu, just choose 'Initial Proliant Support Pack Install' instead.

OK, have you checked the trust settings? Once the trust is OK (I use trust by certificate, as it seems to work best) do a hardware and software poll (Options/Status Polling) to reverify the system. I suspect that the trust isn't set correctly and that's why SIM can't find the VCRM. Did you install the VCRM at the same time as SIM?

The polling status is working with no errors and the VCRM trusted.
And when I tried to upload the proliant pack, the browser not selecting the folders or the pack. and I could not select the pack to be uploaded

Are your updates downloading successfully from HP? If the repository is populated, go to the VCRM management page and click 'configure' next to your VCRM machine name. Go to 'Options' and take the bottom selection which will rescan your repository and rebuild the catalogue. Redo the software status poll. Something that may help is to restart the Insight Manager service - don't know if it'll make any difference, but it's always worth a try!
