Deploying software/firmware from HP SIM - automate the process
Hi
We are running HP SIM v5.1.
I am going to use the software/firmware deployment functionality in SIM for all our servers as of now and I have been doing some testing.
What I found out was that it was pretty automated to deploy new PSP to my servers, but in order to upgrade BIOS and other firmware (like array controllers, iLO, etc) the process was more manual than I liked.
On each system, I went in and checked which version was required and then manually checked the box in front of that firmware update before pushing it.
Is it possible to make this process more automated, like the possibility to select a server and choose to install ALL available updates (PSP, firmware, etc) in one go?
Some help is appreciated.
Thanks.
/ThomasO

Re: Deploying software/firmware from HP SIM - automate the process
Hi guys
Does anyone have any information to share with me on the above?
I am going to upgrade PSP and various firmware on many servers in the coming days and would like to know if there is a better way of doing it than I mentioned above.
Thanks.
