Deploying sw&firmware via custom PSP bundle updates Network drivers?
We'd like to update the components on all our servers to PSP 7.6 level without any interruption to the network connectivity.
I created a custom PSP and did not include any network drivers. I tried deploying the custom PSP to a test server through SIM's "Install Software and Firmware". During the process, the update dropped 2 or 3 pings on three seperate 'occasions'.
The Version Control agent log shows that it actually downloaded and installed the NIC driver cp006641.exe even though it is nowhere in the custom XML file.
Anyone seen this before? Shouldn't it be skipping the network drivers? Could it be somehow pointing to an existing reference pack that does include the NIC drivers?
Thanks for your help!

Re: Deploying sw&firmware via custom PSP bundle updates Network drivers?
We plan on doing the same here, will start some testing with a custom baseline tommorow in our lab and let you know if I get the same results. Did you include firmware updates in your custom baseline? Just curious if I can put firmwares for different systems and it will automatically install the proper one.

Re: Deploying sw&firmware via custom PSP bundle updates Network drivers?
Why are you not including the Nic drivers from 7.6? Have you had problems with the Nics disappearing with 7.60? In my testing I haven't had the nic being hosed in the 7.60 version as I did with the testing of the 7.4 & 7.5 versions. So I was getting ready to start mass deploying so I'm curious what you've been experiencing.
