... i'm getting mad :(
I just can't make any deployment task to work on a target server.
ERROR MESSAGE :
HP Remote Deployment Console Utility
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Initializing...
Unable to connect to the target computer. All available connection methods were attempted with no success.
A possible reason is that the operating system of the target computer is not supported. An unknown error occurred that prevented connection to the target computer.
Unknown Initialization Error!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Environment :
- SIM / VCRM Server : W2K3, SIM 5.1 SP1, PSP 7.80, fresh install.
- Test client : W2K3, HP DL 360, PSP 7.60
- ***NO Domain***. All servers in workgroup
- All servers can resolve both short and FQ DNS names.
- 2 users are members of the "Administrators" group : Administrator, and admsim ==> i used it to install SIM. Same accounts exists on client, with same password (i tested it as a workaround, doesn't fix the problem)
- I can browse client's SMH from SIM without login prompt (so certificate seems ok). I have a warning about certificate, cause names don't match (= in the certificate, CN is SIM.mydomain.fr, and url is just "SIM" ... so IE isn't happy ... maybe an issue ??)
- I can open a SSH session from client to server and server to client (so OpenSSH config seems ok). Mapping drives with net use also works.
- ... "Repair Agent settings" feature WORKS !! (with same credentials) o_O
- Found no specific errors in system/security (all events)/application logs ... or smh.log on SIM.
S.O.S, Please help :) Spend 2 full days on it already, arghhh !
Thanks a lot, sorry for my poor english :)

Re: Deployment tasks : "Unable to connect" [servers in workgroup]
But ... i still need to understand some things :
- why are credentials not required from "install software and firmware" ... and so, which login use SIM to install software ? rights from local VCA agent ?
- why "install openssh" or "initial PSP install" still not work ? Is that because it's not installed by VCA, and credentials aren't good because i'm not in a domain ?
Anyway, thanks a a lot.

Re: Deployment tasks : "Unable to connect" [servers in workgroup]
SIM & VCA work on trust settings from both SIM & VCA's SMH.
VCA access VCRM using user security settings in VCRM's SMH.
"Initial PSP install" & ├в install openssh├в options use OS level admin access.
