Disable Monitoring for HP Storage Works Adapter
we are running HP SIM 5.1 with SP1. Two of our Windows Server have several Fiber Channel Adapter, but some of them are not used.
Is there any possibility to deactivate these adapeters from monitoring?
Thanks

Re: Disable Monitoring for HP Storage Works Adapter
what about to deactivate the unused NIC in the Server-network-settings? Alternative remove the TCP/IP-binding on the unused NICs.
F.K.

Re: Disable Monitoring for HP Storage Works Adapter
I cannot disable them.
1. The Fiber Channel Adapter are not shown in the NIC Configuration, I can only see them in the Device Manager
2. We have our christmas business and it is not allows to change any configuration on a server.
So I have to deactivate the adapters that are not used from SIM on a other way.
Thanks

Re: Disable Monitoring for HP Storage Works Adapter
I haven't seen any info that you could configure the HP StorageWorks Fibre Channel Array Notification Driver to monitor specific cards.
I would probably disable the PCI slot of the unused FC Adapter in the RBSU on next schduled maintenance .
Filtering out the unwanted info from not being registered to SIM might prove a big task, if not impossible.
