Discovery / Monitoring without root access
Hello,
is there a way to discover and monitor Linux-Systems without root credentials?
Or even to delete the root cerdentials after discovery?

Re: Discovery / Monitoring without root access
No Answer from HP ? I have spent hours for this with HP support personnel. This same thing " recognizing hosts based on SNMP community string" was working in SIM 5.3. And this simple and a very secure feature is taken away by HP in SIM 6.3
HP Please help here.

Re: Discovery / Monitoring without root access
Hi,
There is a way... Connect to the Systems Management Homepage (https://server:2381) of the Linux server, go to security and import the certificate from your SIM server...
From that moment on, your SIM server can communicate in a secure ay with your Linux server without needing the root account...
The Linux guys in my company do not want to give the root password but working like this gives me all functionality and they are also satisfied...
Kr,
Bart
