Discovery of Managment Processors
I am running IM7 SP2 and have recently started to discover the ILo cards that have been or are being installed in our Proliant servers. I have had some luck but have discovered that the server will show that it has a management processor but that I also get another entry that shows the IP of the ILo Card in the Server Name
(ex. ###.###.###.### in Server NONAMESERVER). If I delete the above mentioned entry the management processor is deleted from the server entry also. Is there a way to have only ONE entry per server that displys everything? Having two entries for one server is cumbersome.

Re: Discovery of Managment Processors
You could exclude them from the Discovery list but then the associations will probably break as well.
Having the two entries means you can browse directly to the LO card from IM if the Server itself has died.

Re: Discovery of Managment Processors
I agree that it does simplify finding the iLo, but my database for IM already supports 2800 servers and is still growing. Adding an additional entry for each server, you can imagine.
What is the point of having two entries? I was led to believe that the management processor was associated to the server, not that it would add another entry too.

Re: Discovery of Managment Processors
For iLO to be both manageable and associated with a server, it has to be a discovered device in its own right. When you display the 'All Devices' list, that is what you get, literally all of the devices. You may want to get in the habit of displaying the 'All Servers' list instead; that will suppress the display of the separate iLO discovered devices. You could customize your home page to not display the helpful text and instead display 'All Servers' so you would have one-click access to that just by hitting [Home].
