Discovery of MP creates duplicate systems
Hi,
on four HP-UX systems (2x rx2660 and 2x rx6600) when discovering one of those systems in SIM, it automatically also discovers the MP (the Integrity iLO). So far so good. Then, while identifying the MP, it discovers the same system again, and then creates a new server entry with the serial number as system name.
So I always end up with duplicate entries of the same system, one which appears correct with the system hostname, and a second one with the S/N as system name.
I assume this is because of different UUIDs, for example
correct: 6B9F0367-C589-11DC-852E-30367B3A1012
duplicate: 67039F6B-89C5-DC11-852E-30367B3A1012
What could cause the MP/iLO to return a different UUID then the one shown in "machinfo" on HP-UX?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Discovery of MP creates duplicate systems
Also snmp-walking the MP returns the correct UIID in enterprises.11.2.36.1.1.5.1.1.2.0: 6b9f0367-c589-11dc-852e-30367b3a1012
Maybe there is there some endian conversion going on in SIM? Strange that it only happens for a few systems...

Re: Discovery of MP creates duplicate systems
After updating the system firmware on a bunch of rx6600 and rx3600 it now happens on those systems as well. Looks to me like a regression in the MP firmware.
As nobody else seems be bothered, I'll open a case with HP and try my luck there...
