Disk Space Event Task

I have always used the 'Rising Threshold Passed' type of the 'Proliant Threshold Event' category to send an email to me when a drive became 95% utilized.

Since moving to SIM I have not been receiving emails on some Windows 2003 servers. Should I be using the 'Proliant Storage Events' category instead? If so, which one: 4, 3004, 3011, 3019, 3030, 3037

Thanks,
JT

Re: Disk Space Event Task

Josh,

I think threshold alerts are now "Proiant Threshold Events"

So basically, when a disk passes a threshold, it generates an alert (for example "Critical") with the label of:

"Rising Threshold Passed (10005)" (for example)

So to get an email on these alerts, you would:

1) Options
2) Events
3) Automatic Event Handling
4) New Task...
5) Give it a name...next
6) Select "Event Catagory is" and then "Proliant Threshold Events" and then selct the type (for example 10005)...next

And then just follow the rest of the wizard and fill in the appropriate information.

Re: Disk Space Event Task

Oops - I just re-read your email. Sounds like you are already doing this. But you may want to just double-check these settings of your alert.

Re: Disk Space Event Task

Nelson,

Thanks for the reply. So with Windows 2003 and SIM4.x, do you still use the Proliant Threshold Event catagory? If so, do you just use type 10005?

Thanks again

Josh
