Disk Thresholds

I have recently began installing the latest and greatest version and have noticed that I can no longer set seperate thresholds for different logical disks in the same server. The older version presented me with and easy slider for each disk. Am I forced to set the same percentage for each disk in the server now? 2% of an 9gb operating system drive compared to 2% of a 900gb storage drive is one heck of a difference. Am I missing something with this version or did HP go the way of Microsoft and start removing usefull tools from their software?

Re: Disk Thresholds

What operating system are you running? There is no change in how to set thresholds in 7.40 but there is an issue if you are running Linux that and I can provide you with a workaround.

just to clarify, are you using the SMH to set the thresholds and they are just not sticking?
Let me know.

Re: Disk Thresholds

Operating systems are server2000 to server 2003. Many of my older servers were running a version of the agent that showed me a sliding scale for each drive on the server. I slid this to the appropriate amount and voila, each drive had it's own disk threshold.
My current thresholds are sticking OK, I guess my main question is, Is there a way to assign thresholds to each disk in the server. I may want my C drive set completly different than D for example. I used to be able to do this.
Thanks

Re: Disk Thresholds

I just double-checked mine and I can set individual thresholds through the SMH on my logical drives with no problems. In the SMH under the storage category click on file system used space and there you can set the thresholds for you individual volumes. JRE is required to set them appropriatly. Let me know what you see on this screen if you dont see the slide bars. attach a screen shot.
One thing is this all internal storage or external storage?
thanks

Re: Disk Thresholds

Good lord, can you tell it was to close to the Holidays?? Was trying to set this up in Insight Manager itself and completly disregarded checking SMH. Thanks!!

Re: Disk Thresholds

Scott had it right and I was to overworked (or two sidetracked) by the Holidays to explore the obvious. Thanks to Scott.
