DL360g4p cpqasm2 failed to start

Hi all,
I have just taken over a large tidy up of insight manger 5 system that's a bit of a mess.
I've just looked at a dl360g4p which is also the cv5 server. It comes up with an error message on boot about cpqasm2 not starting, also there is a warning in device manager on the HP Proliant iLo ASM controller (which is dependant on cpqasm2). The iLo does not respond, and I can not install the management agents 7.90. The only thing working is the vca from which i have updated the firmnwares to see if that work help.
The system is a win2003std none sp1.
Searching the net doesn't give me any solutions.
