Re: DL380 G4 and Performance Manager
If any HP SIM discovered server does not appear in the PMP License Administration page, run software status polling for the server. If the server does not appear in the PMP License Administration page after running software status polling, check the operating system version installed on the server.
To check the operating system version, click the System Name entry in the HP SIM console. If the operating system version is appended with a build number (such as, 5.2.3790 for Windows 2003), PMP cannot license this server.
This situation occurs when HP SIM discovers servers using the WBEM protocol, which returns the operating system version appended with a build number. To resolve this issue:
1. Click the system name entry in the HP SIM console.
2. Select the Links tab.
3. Select the Edit System Properties link.
4. Edit the operating system version (5.0 for Windows 2000, 5.2 for Windows Server 2003).
5. Select the Prevent the Discovery, Identification and Data Collection processes from changing these system properties checkbox.
6. Click OK.
Let us know if that works or what happens. I know there are some G4 issues with PMP, but I believe you get some basic system monitoring anyway. off the top of my head I believe some of this was addressed in HpSIM 4.2 Sp2.
