domain name in discovered hosts
We have the following problem .
Some discovered hosts are named with FQDN other with just the network name . Since all hosts are correctly registered in the DNS I was wondering why this difference.
Additionally some hosts are discovered as ORPHAN_ .
Thanks
Stefano Colombo

Re: domain name in discovered hosts
The Orphans are usually a result of Server communication problems. I just delete them.
I've had a couple of Servers turn up with their FQDN, I usually just delete and rediscover them.
I've got some that always show the FQDN, but they have two FQDN's, a legacy one and new one. So that might be a result of that.

Re: domain name in discovered hosts
also if a server comes up with its FQDN all the time, you can go edit the system name and check the box to not allow discovery/identification to update the name.
