Drive Status Critical - Showing In SIM, Not In Server Eventvwr
HP,
We have a server that sends us "Critical" messages about a disk (see below)every four to eight days. It is set to "Write to the system log". Unfortunately we have not seen any disk messages in the actual server's event log. We realize that some event logs could have been deleted by mistake, but don't think this is the case.
Question: If we keep getting these messages via SIM and do not see anything in the event log of the server, what should we believe? Should we go ahead and swap out the drive?
EVENT DETAILS
Event Identification and Details
Event Severity Critical
Cleared Status Cleared
Event Source nt-bdc-suisun1
Associated System nt-bdc-suisun1
Associated System Status Major
Event Time 29-Apr-2005, 08:31:53 EDT
Description Physical Drive Status Change. This trap signifies that the agent has detected a change in the status of a drive array physical drive. The variable cpaDaPhyDrvStatus indicates the current physical drive status. User Action: If the physical drive status is failed(3) or predictiveFailure(4), replace the drive.
Thank you,
Bill

Which log are you referring to? The Windows Event Log or the IML?
