Effective way to delete huge number of Major and Minor HP alerts
I have a HP SIM Manager (Build version C.05.01.00.02) + HP Storage Essential (v6.0) running on the same physical server (HP DL360 G5) with 10G RAM. The HP SIM manager has huge number of alerts logged, for instance,
18198 Major Alerts logged
2333 Minor Alerts logged
Whenever I attempted to delete these alerts from the GUI of HP SIM Manager, the HP SIM Manager always crashes and I need to restart the whole server again. I have tried many times without success.
So, is there any command line or more effective way to delete all these Major and Minor alerts from the HP SIM database permanently instead of going via the GUI of HP SIM?
Thanks.

Re: Effective way to delete huge number of Major and Minor HP alerts
Try the mxconfigrepo command to check the database consistency. Here to possible switches:
mxconfigrepo -c -> checks the database
mxconfigrepo -f -> fix database erros
See the HP-SIM cli-guide for more options.
Have you looked into the mxlog file or the application log for more datails about the crashes?
Regards,
Bernd
