Email addresses in SIM 4.1

Does any know how to get an email address with a dash in it to work in SIM 4.1? We have an address to a global admin mailbox that has is as follows: 'abcdef.hijkl-ny@123.com'. Other addresses work correctly (multiple) but email fails for all when this one is added. It also fails with just this address. I have tried quotes for this address....
