Email floods with 4.2 but only when one monitored server is rebooted

Since we upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2 we have been getting email floods of past events.

We have tracked it down to one server that when it is reboot the flood happens.

Any ideas? I thought that this was a 4.1 problem that was patched in 4.2, funny that we never had them with 4.1.
